Yangon, the largest and commercial city of Myanmar, will join up with
Torino of Italy as sister cities, Mizzima reported.

The friendship scheme was discussed in the meeting between Myanmar
President U Thein Sein and Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti at
National Convention Centre in Laos on 6 November while the two leaders
were attending Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM).

Torino is a business and culture centre in northern Italy and third
largest commercial city of Italy. It is also the origin of FIAT and
Juventus Football Club.

The meeting also focused on development packages and investments of
Italian energy companies in Myanmar.
