Leaders of Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam focused on cooperation in inclusive growth as they addressed World Economic Forum (East Asia) hosted for the first time in Myanmar in the administrative seat Nay Pyi Taw.
“It’s critical for us to move forward,” Myanmar president Thein Sein said in his opening address.
The World Economic Forum which brought together many business executives and regional political figures kicked off Thursday.
Myanmar’s Nobel laureate parliamentarian Aung San Suu Kyi said she wanted to be elected as a president in 2015 elections as she discussed constitutional change in “Myanmar-What Future?” dialogue hosted by a BBC correspondent.
Government minister Soe Thane and activist Zin Mar Aung participated in the debate.
