Vodafone will focus on mobile health and education services in Myanmar if a joint venture with China Mobile win the bid to deliver telecom services, Financial Times reported.

The world telecom giants has teamed up with China Mobile and formed a joint venture which was on the shortlist for the final round of bids for Myanmar’s two international telecom licenses.

Vodafone is also planning to offer M-Pesa mobile money service if they win the hardfought battle among top mobile operators.

According to Mobile World Live, health, education and money services offered by Vodafone may be ‘popular’ in Myanmar as the government eyes social progress driven by mobile communications.
