Malaysia’s famous Parkson Department Store is due to open its retail centre in Yangon, the commercial
city of Myanmar, by May 2013, according to a The Voice Weekly report.
“Parkson store will be opened in May next year,” the unnamed official of FMI which is undertaking the
construction of the store.
Parkson Myanmar Investment Company was agreed to form with Parkson Myanmar Co Pte Ltd, Yoma
Strategic Holdings Ltd and First Myanmar Investment Co Ltd on 5 November.
Parkson Myanmar will hold 70 percent stake of the consortium while YSH holds 20 percent and FMI 10
percent, according to a press release of YSH.
Parkson has retail stores in Malaysia, China, Vietnam and Cambodia.
