Road Transport Directorate of Myanmar is in talks with 13 private companies to form joint ventures in the move to privatize the transportation industry, Myanma Alinn reported.
The government transportation services arm under Ministry of Rail Transportation met eight local firms and five foreign outlets in late April.
The joint ventures will operate passenger transportation, workshops and training schools, according to the report.
The directorate is negotiating with the companies for re-employment of their staff in emerging joint ventures.
The proposals of the private companies will be assessed by investment committee of the ministry.
