CB CHAIRMAN INVESTS IN 50% SHARE OF HANTHARWADY UNITED

Myanmar National League club Hantharwady United FC held a press conference in Yangon on 5 January
on the future of the club, according to a Myanma Alinn report.


The previous sole owner of the club U Aung Moe Kyaw had tried to transfer the club’s management to
Myanmar Football Federation, the football governing body, ahead of the start of the season.


U Khin Maung Aye, chairman of Cooperatives Bank, has acquired 50 % stake of the club while U Aung
Moe Kyaw, chairman of IBTC a sponsor whisky company of English Premier League giants Chelsea,
will continue to hold the position of the chairman of the club.

“I’ve accepted U Aung Moe Kyaw’s offer because Bago is my native town. I’ll devote myself to
footballing improvement of the region,” he said.


The club represent Bago region, one of the largest regions in lower Myanmar in close vicinity of Yangon.
